Go t an auto parts store and pick up a plastic bottle of Mothers Car wash Soap. Do not use dish soap, shampoo or other household soap. They are too strong and will strip any wax off the car finish.

I don't know why you are making it so stressful. Walmart has lots of car washing soaps in the automotive section. Unlike waxes which have a varying degree of qualitly, basically any of the car wash soaps
will work equally well. You don't need to spend $10 for a high priced car soap.
You can get a cheaper brand of car soap for $4 that will be just as good. When it comes to waxes, however, avoid Turtle Wax. Meguiar's waxes are better. (meguairs is sold at walmart). Protect you paint by waxing often.

Use a cleaner like Armoral to wash your car. Using dish soap will strip the wax leaving the paint unprotected in the weather

Hand wash with a clean car wash mit or an old baby diaper. Don't use dish soap. Buy a car washing soap designed for car finishes.... not pots and pans.

use a car soap, one that does not leave soap marks, there are a few out there, do not use dish soap this tends to wear out your paint. After wash, use a car wax, this will protect your paint,, then use a car polish, this will make your car really shine,,, and stand out. hope this helps you out
