No, actually there are a lot of species that will fight to protect their territory or food. Bees will attack anyone that gets near their hives. Ever watch Meercat Manor on Animal Planet? They go to war too.

I'm actually pretty sure that *humans* are the only species that go to war, or understand the abstract concept of "war." What ants and insects do cannot strictly be called "war" because they are not conscious of what they are doing - they're simply driven by basic biological needs or instincts.
Humans are also the only species to murder other humans premeditatively and for non-instinctual reasons.

we have both created war for a solution, uniting and taking land and whatnot, but many species battle for basically the same thing, i wouldnt know if they do over religion or not, but simple matters, many animals fight instintively, just not as a united front

Chimpanzees are well-known for their warlike behavior. Chimps form tribes like humans, and if a chimp wanders into another tribe's territory, he will be beaten to death if he can't escape. Tribes of chimps also occasionally launch raids against other tribes for much the same reason humans go to war: to gain territory and/or resources.
It's also of interest to note that chimps are our closest genetic relatives....
