Only to a point, I tend to think of them more as kindred spirits.

What the b'jesus are you talking about?
A SOUL-MATE?!
You gonna have baby souls or something?
Look, you have friends, you have good friends, you have best friends, and you have people who happen to have almost the same reality perspective as you do. The last kind of person can fall into any or none of the previous categories...You might even hate your so called "soul mate" because you like to be different...But when a person who has the same reality perspective as you is your lover or best friend, you call them a "soul mate." I dislike this term because it refers to "destiny" or "God," and that = Bullsh!t...
So stop mooning over whoever you're clasping your sweaty palms together for and start looking at your relationship without your rose colored glasses...You may have found a great match...And that's awesome...But you may have found a con-artist too...And that sucks...Just remember, if it ever all comes crashing down, that if you think you just lost your "soul mate" you might as well end it all, you just bit the green weenie and you have destroyed your one chance at true love...
But if you remember that there are more than 8 billion people in the world, chances are there are at least a million that are an even BETTER match for you than your so called "soul mate."

To belive in soul mates, one would have to belive in destiney. You are ment to be with someone and you will cross their path and fall in love. But if you dont belive in destiney then what are the odds of finding your sould mate out of all the what is it 6 billion people on Earth. not very likely is it. Anyway I think soul mate does have a nice meaning in society like some sort of fairy tale, but in reality it just means someone you are super compatible with.

Yes I met my husband when I was very young and knew he was the one that I wanted to be with. He is my soul mate.

I believe that I have soul sisters and brothers so it would seem reasonable that there is a soul that matches me somewhere. If we are meant to be together, we shall discover this eventually.

Yes, I do. I also believe that a soul mate can be a friend instead of a lover. I have a soul mate...she completes me.

No. There may be similarity in spirit between two individuals, but not of the soul...
