Do CVT cars use the regular Park, Drive, Reverse, Neutral or do you have to shift gears as well?

They are shifted just like an automatic.

They have the same P,D,R,N positions as a normal transmission. They do not have the 1,2,3, position though. I drove one and it will take some getting used to. It was odd that the engine went up to about 3000 rpm and stayed there. The car just kept going faster and faster. I was waiting for the gears to change and there are no gears to change. So you really have to watch the speedometer to see how fast you are going. I guess you get used to after a while, but it was weird, from what I've been used to growing up.

Is like an automatic with no shifting other than to start. Gearing is constantly variable.
