Not sure. Only a physician can determine if something is wrong with the baby. If you have any doubts or if there is a dramatic change in movements, then the baby could be distressed and I would immediately call your physician or head to the hospital. It is not worth the wait. Trust me, I know from personal experience.
Goodluck.

Not to alarm you, but it can go either way. Baby can be really asleep getting ready for the birth, or baby could have passed away. My baby stopped movement the day he was due to be born. The xray showed all was ok. The 24 hour urine didn't show any negative signs either but they couldn't find a heartbeat so they did an amniosynthesis and it proved he died. I delivered him naturally 3 weeks later and he was only 2 lbs 11 oz at full term. The autopsy said all organs were there but they concluded since their was no afterbirth that once he was suppose to start gaining, for some reason my body wasn't helping him or there was a bad connection or something and he starved to death. I truly hope that isn't the case but it is imperrative that you get to your doctor for a check up to make sure. They can now ultrasound the fetus and connect you to a fetal heart monitor. Something that they didn't have when my son was being carried. Good luck.

No, this is not normal. You should be feeling at least a dozen or so definite movements a day. The cramping and back aches could also indicate a problem.
Put in a call to your doctor now, then drink some juice, lie down on your left side, and do nothing but wait for movement. (and for your doctor to call back) (no TV, reading, music, or anything else to distract you.) If you can't count 6 good movements or have more than 3 contractions in the next hour, go to the hospital even if you haven't yet heard from your doctor.

Your question brought back a memory that made me chuckle.
When I was about 35 weeks I realized that I had not felt my baby move in a week or so. I was very afraid. So I went to my Doc he asked me if I slept all night. I said I was a sound sleeper. He asked if I had alarm clock. He said to set it for
2 a.m. and let him know what happened. I did, and after the 5 or so minutes it took me to wake up, I felt all of this turning and kicking. Some babies especially African American ones
have a different internal clock,(genetic memory) than their mothers. From that day untill this and he is a grown man. He
has been much more comfortable sleeping days and being awake nights. It is simply natural. When his office was wondering how to make a state program work. He suggested
a night hours office, and he lives happily ever after. So see your doctor first, and then don't worry.

if you've felt the baby move at all is a good sign. backache and cramping is normal for this stage in pregnancy due to sciatica, rib flaring, and even the repositioning of the baby. cramping can be caused by weak abdominal muscles as well as the growing baby stretching the uterine wall even more than before....
if you're worried then go to the doctor...this is your baby and your body and to heck with what other people say. you need to be happy and comfortable knowing that everything is fine. undue stress is not needed at this time of your life (i.e 31 weeks preggers! lol)
my baby was super active and suddenly seemed to be doing nothing all the time. my doctor told me it's due to my change in activity...i had been sick for 8 months, hospitalized for morning sickness and then suddenly i was fine and the constant motion lulled her to sleep so she wasnt moving around a lot...now she's 4 years old and doesnt stop moving!!!
go to the doctor. you'll feel better!

Try drinking a cup of warm tea that may wake the baby up and have him/her moving around a bit more or it could be that the baby is getting ready to show it's face to the world by getting into birthing position. If this doesn't work you should def go see your doctor and have an ultra sound done to see if you have miscarried. If you are feeling pains that are out of the normal miscarriage is a high possibility. Have you fallen or something? If you have miscarried you again need to go to the emergency room immediatly, if you are walking around without passing the miscarried baby it can eventually make you sick and lead to death for you from the toxins.

Have you mentioned this to your doc. it doesnt sound normal...was your baby very active before? and all of the sudden the activity has declined? Call your doc. and get checked its probably tangled with the cord or under some type of fetal distress, and most of all go with you motherly instincts more than half of the time your right.....and it being saturday go to the hospital it will put your mind in ease and it will give you more of a stable answer, even if you have your ob-gyn emergency num. call him/her.....and dont take its ok for an answer if you feel in your heart that its not, if that the case go to the hospital have someone drive you if possible just incase youhave to stay to get monitered etc. hope the best for you and your baby

Ask your doctor. There are test that can be done that detects if the baby is moving or not. Sometimes, depending on your weight before the baby, some woman do not feel the baby move after 30 weeks, due to the size of the baby...try not to panic...ask for a stress test....

im about 34/35 wks pregnant myself. i feel kicks constantly so maybe you should contact your doctor right away. but if this helps, i'v also heard that as you near the end of your pregnancy and your baby gains more weight, space in your womb is limited so your baby has not got as much space to kick and punch as it had beforehand so these movements are replaced by shifting movements. but if you are still worried trust your insticts and get it checked out
