Mammals do. It is involved in feeding the baby inside the womb. But their parents eat the umbillicus immediately after they are born and you can't see the belly button since it is covered with fur.
In answer to your second question; no we aren't animals... we are humans, animal just means like not human. if you start thinking of people as animals your soul decays, you treat people badly, like in the Holocaust; the Nazis encouraged people to treat Jews as animals and so they felt no guilt.

Mammals do have umbilical cords, search on the internet and you'll probably find photo's of others.

Yes, we're another animal, though walking on two legs, just with differing insights and minds to other animals.

You haven't been around to much have you Jack. You see all warm blooded animals have umbilical cords. The only ones I know of, they lay eggs. These are the cold blooded animals, like snakes, frogs, fish, birds of course like chickens, etc.
We are more then an animal that walks on two legs. You are capable of love, having one mate, believing in a higher spirit and being able to smile, joke and sing along with other traits, like crying.

I don't know which animals you're talking about because most of the ones I've seen do have umbilical cords.

As far as I know, all mammals do have umbilical cords - cattle, dogs, cats, etcetera. And, like many mammals, we have an appendix too, but we don't use it anymore.
