Yes. A foreign language is always a useful adjunct to another major, and it might be a nice relief not to be dealing with computers all the time.

as a student who is doubl-majoring i highly recommend this to all students.it gives you a higher chance of getting a well paying job and moreimportantly allowes you to have variety during your college years.allthogh you might like computer science very much studying a foreign language would be a change in pace.
having said that i think the distance between the departments as you mentioned in your question is a very important problem which should taken in to account .anyway if i were you i would weigh the disadvantages and advantages and then decide.gud luck dude.

Yes, as long as you are willing to put in the time and effort into both majors. And a foreign language is one of the best second majors you can choose.

I know someone who double majored in math and Spanish. It took her an extra year to graduate but it was because she needed two classes her fifth year and they were only offered every other year. She planned to take them her fourth year but didn't realize until it was too late that she had to stay an extra year. So she went full-time for four years and took one class a semester during her fifth year. Basically, just check ahead to make sure you can get your classes in.

Yep! In today's society, a lot of employers consider being bilingual an added plus....especially if they want to send you to other countries, or have a lot of calls coming in from other countries.
