Well I saw in a magazine about pygmy rabbits. They are the smallest rabbits in the world. Well, it said they were close to extenction, but people rescued them and bred them to help the population. Well, I know they are wild rabbits, but I wanted a rodent ( like a Chinchilla, cute and cuddly) but that doesnt have as many needs, like the temperature. I was looking in a rabbit, but the ones i looked at were too big. I want a really small rabbit (like a pygmy rabbit). I also want to adopt or rescue one, so if anyone knows of any good rabbit rescues (I've already looked at petfinder) please list them. The last thing I want to end up doing is buying a rabbit from a breeder or pet store. Also, if anyone knows of any other rodents (except hamsters, guinea pigs) that I could play with and cuddle with, please list them.
I have a cockatiel, 1 dog, and 2 hermit crabs, so I need a small, playful rodent. Thanks!!

My recommendation if you want a pocket-sized pet is to get a pet rat from a reputable breeder. They are smart and clean animals.

The Netherland Dwarf rabbit is small but not as small as a pet rat would be. Lots of people keep rabbits as house pets. Some rabbits will even become litterbox trained if you take the time with them. The best rabbit for a pet would be any of the domesticated breeds. Make sure to do your research and learn about any exotic animal that you might want to have as a pet.

I'm going to address this since several people said it would be bad with a dog.. just make sure that you know how your dog will react, and that you have a safe place for it in case it does try to get them.. I successfully had 3 cats a dog, a rat, a guinea pig, a hamster, AND a rabbit with no problems.. the rabbit ran around the house just like the cats and dog.. the others all ran around loose with supervision.. it is possible.. just be cautious.

as for the rabbit.. I've found that rabbits aren't that cuddly.. they are not terrible.. , but in my experience the rat was the most social of them all.. ..

well, if you want a small rabbit, go with a dwarf rabbit. i doubt that wild rabbits would make as good pets as domesticated ones. i had a dwarf rabbit and she lived to be 6 years old! they are playful, my rabbit would take cards from your hand and throw them in the air! just google rescue sites in your area and see if they have any rabbits there. dwarfs are pretty small, about 6-8 inches. they are great pets and if you interact with them everyday they will trust and love you!

What are you, ten? you have the adulthood point of a 10 365 days previous. The LL suggested no so which you won't be able to have that breed. you do not own the valuables so which you have not have been given any say in what style of animal you could have on it. The hire says any animal, the canines is an animal. end thinking you're above the guidelines considering the fact which you have a case of i %. you keep attempting to justify you being above the guidelines b whining how the friends are rude etc. you could % all of it you %, you at the instant are not allowed to have it on an identical time as residing on the LL's sources. Suck up it up and develop up.

Stick with known domesticated rabbits. If you are looking for a small rabbit, check out the Dwarf breeds.

ummmmmm i think a bunny would be a good pet but they require alot of work, you have to release them into a pen evryday, they have to be kept outside or in a special shed with AC and heating. you have to clean their cages 2-3 times aweek, here are some other pets:

white rat (so cuet!)
hamster
chinchilla
mouse
gerbil
rock (lol j/k=])

they dont require alot of work....personally i hate ginee pigs, but, your not me so...
chinchilla are almost endangered so you'd be doing a good thing to get one
if you are getting one of these here is a shopping list

cage
hamster wheel (forhamsters)
chewing blocks
bathing sand (opt)
food
water bottles
beddin (aspen wood, not pine or cedar)
toys and obstical (whick you canmake yourself)
vitaminsupplements (opt)
grooming suplies (opt)

Continue to research as much as you can. Call the vet clinic and ask for any phone numbers of people you can talk to. There might be people that take in "exotics" and they will have lots of advice.

well i have always loved rats. my old rat, Dee, sat on my shoulder while i watched tv with me.
i taught her how to give me a kiss on the cheek, she was the best rat in the world.

i dont think they sell pygmy rabbits in pet stores, well, i have never seen one.
but idk lol they may sell some somewhere else.
