I am interested in teaching English as a Second Language in Montreal. I am a U.S. citizen, 22 yrs old, with B/A in Spanish and French.

3 questions:
1) Is there any way that I can work in Canada as an ESL teacher without having an ESL teaching degree?

3) Do I need a work visa?

4) Any suggestions of sites online with possible employers?

thanks! :)

Interesting numbering system you use.

Guy above is right for #1.

I had a relatively hard time finding work teaching ESL in Montreal though I am Canadian and do have a degree in TESL. (I didn't have experience, not sure if you do.) A lot of the schools are pretty fly-by-night. It would help if you have a car and can go to different companies and teach their employees. That seemed to be getting bigger and bigger when I left town (2001).

Good luck! Montreal is a great city!

1) you need a teaching degree to teach in the school system. If you work for a private company then you SHOULDN'T need the degree.
2) check with the Canadian embassy in Washington they will be able to help you out or go to the government web site
3) Most likely
