Not to stereotype all Asian women, but some of them have no concept of self respect.

There is a divide in the Asian community when it comes to IR. Asian mothers don't want their sons to have IR, yet are they welcomed their daughter if they were in an IR. (Only with white people of course). It is really sad.

In America, white is American. Everything is Something-American. Even if you're just an step off from Europe, you are an American. But if you are born here, lived here for generation. You are not American. America is a nation born out of racism.

Years ago, when I was a teenager, my mother was a bigot. She said, "You can have a Mexican boyfriend, or a White boyfriend, or even a Chinc, but don't bring home a N*gger. But White is best."

She got a lot better, her bigotry softened a lot later in years. However, I find it sad that someone would feel so inferior like that, to consider an entire race even better than they are.

America is an immigrant's country, whether the immigrant came recently or long ago. There is no one more American than an immigrant, 'cause that's what this country is all about.

So yes, ALL of you are Americans, even your Auntie. Try to reveal this to your family. I know it may seem futile, but it's worth a try.

Look up "Juk Sing" bamboo joint. The Chinese American... Chinese in America have long been discriminated against over the century. With the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, signs on businesses saying "No dogs and Chinese allowed", you can't walk into a saloon if your Chinese, you couldn't own property if you were Chinese. Atleast 2 maybe 3 generations of Chinese have had poor representation and high discrimination in the US. Japanese Americans were put into Concentration camps during WWII. No other minority race had been subjected to this during time of war. Having Caucasian last name, older people feel that they will be treated more fairly. They remember how tough it was when they were children.

maybe thast just your family. and also are you asian-american or from asia??? cuz for some reason i absolutely hate how ppl will say like half hispanic and half american(american as the white person) for example..when the hispanic person is just as american....theres asian americans, african americans, european americans, hispanic americans, etc. an asian person born in america is more american than a person from germany..even if germans are consdiered white oh and american isnt a descent (unless ur talkin bout native american i guess) its a natonality so uc anrealli say half american cuz thats too general... and also about the 90%..uhm it depends actually if you look up celebrities that are eurasian, they differ a lot..some look more white but they have asian features..some look more asian...some are just a complete mix of the both...and i think it depends on the type of asian or caucasian like someone whose half cambodian will prolly look closer to fulll asian than like a half chinese person...but like i sed it depends... for example http://images.askmen.com/imagessexsymbol/2001_jun/jennifer_tilly/jennifer_tilly_150c.jpg jennifer tilly is half chinese and 90% of her doesnt look asian but this girl http://images.askmen.com/women/celeb_profiles_actress/pictures/maggie_q/maggie_q.jpg maggie q is half asian and she looks a little more asian looking..well at least in the pic.. hoh and btw i actually think a lot of asian ppl are good lookin

oh and i kno i went off topic but i just dont like some ppl dont consider themsleves american cuz their not white? cuz ur just as american as everyone else

and srry bout saying maybe thast your family cuz it may seem like i dont know asian families so i shoudlnt be talking since im not asian.. but someone in my family has half asian kids and her husband is asian and his family isnt like that. and all my other asian friends families arent like that so thast why i was saying that bcuz i guess thier pretty proud of their heritage

Every race has something like that going on. It's nothing new in my family. The big thing with my family is having light skinned kids with pretty hair.

Maybe they are just happy for the marriage (most of them anyway) and you are showing a form of distaste for the marriage because you are against mixed-marriages?
