I am personally going through this issue now. I know my love is gone because i feel nothing when i look at him. I guess when the hurt runs so deeply, you lose feelings of compassion, and you even lose the anger feeling. I walk on egg-shells and I just want to run . I feel like i am suffocating when he is in the room.

I would think the loss of interest for that person is a hint that love is gone. Second, bad flaws arise and are now more detailed which causes more tension between the two people. And third I truly believe you start rediscovering yourself and you like the feeling of finding your true self now that you don't have that other person to worry about. Lets face it the bad side isn't pretty either you might experience hate, and betrayal but it is all natural human emotions the trick is how to get past it.

How do you know if its still there but just needs a wee bit of spark to get it going.If this is a marriage you are talking about i suggest you stop thinking of it being gone and start thinking of ways to rekindle it.
Like what you use to do together while courting.Its a start.

When nothing that person does, bothers you anymore. If you are on the receiving end; when you start to feel invisible and the physical side of your relationship has faded. Whichever way round, not a good thing to experience.

Relationships have good times and not so good times. It can go in cycles.
When one person refuses to work on the relationship, there are no more meaningful conversations, one or both show a lack of respect, abuse...

I think you know it's gone...when you or your partner don't care about each other's feelings and basically refuse to work on anything.
It's when you give up, that it goes away.
