Just got 2 turtles, got tank, heater, filter etc but even tho put the filter in the water still looks bit grubby even tho just got them yesterday. I can hear the filter vibrating but not sure if it should be fully under the water or not?

Let me know what kind of set up you have and what filter you purchased and I can help you out better.

If the filter you are talking about is a whisper then i would recommend not submerging the filter. the filter works by pushing water up so that the only way it can escape is by going through the filter pad, if you completely submerge the filter you create an easier way for the water to escape and it will not go through the pad at all.

It doesn't matter but if the water is looking grubby then try putting the filter partly above the water, It depends what kind of filter.

It should tell you in the instructions, or there should be an 800 number on the package. Some filters need to be completely submerged, others sit above the water.

it depends on the type of filter you have but most aquarium filters should be fully submerged. if your filter is not one that should be submerged then it might just take a couple of days to clear your water properly. This website should help

As long as the pump part of the filter is underwater then it should be fine. If your water is dirty you may be giving them too much food, this is a very common problem with turtles. Feed them once or twice a day but very small amounts.
