Or treat it like a learning experience? I do both. I have learned to never let my guard down. Is that bad?

I dont! like you, I use it as a learned lesson, to make decisions affecting my life and all around me today and for
tomorrow. Being a wary individual...should be the first rule
for survival, nothing wrong with that...

My past has made me two things. Kind, and Hard. Both at the same time. I have learned from my past. And I never hide, because I hope I can get other people to learn from it too!

One can't hide from the past....it will always catch up to you someday. It's a learning experience...i don't feel it's too bad to keep your guard up....only if you feel it's holdin' you back...

Nope, I know right where it's at. And occasionally I'll turn around and talk to it for a bit, like a wise old friend, but normally I just keep moving forward.

i've learned to face my past...but it's hard and still affects me. i don't let my guard down either...never fully trusting. it's a work in progress
