I would strongly suggest you wait and collect the money, and see it safely into your bank account, before making plans to spend it.
You probably won it in a TOYOTA lottery, or a PEPSI lottery, right? Or maybe you are helping a Nigerian princess being pursued by government and needs help to get her money into your country. Or maybe a Nigerian politician who is seeking asylum?
All good things, yes. And many hundred of millions of dollars and GBP are waiting for good samaritans all over the world to receive them. I guess I am one of the silly ones who refuse such an easy way of getting money.
No matter how confident you are of getting the money, just follow my advice in the first sentence.

Firstly pay your debts off. Secondly, Donate 10% of that 6.5 million. Donating means giving to everyone else in need, starting with the people closest to you, then others.. look for people really in need, like orphans, the homeless, battered women, single mothers, abandoned children and those who need help, irrespective of creed or colour. Believe me, the only way to make more money is to give first, just like if you want a punch in the face, punch someone first.
Now, the best way to invest your money so you will earn approx. GBP100000 per year you might want to venture into Trust Funds, or look for promising entrepreneurs. Post up a note stating you're an Investor and would call in entrepreneurs with modest and decent business models. These days, one of the best industries to be in is the Health, Wellness and Nutrition. All the Best.

I think the best way is to invest in yourself, with knowledge. Dont trust people with your money. Do it yourself. Try to get courses with investing. Try to learn 2 approaches of investing: 1.the High Risk High Gain, and 2.the modest long term investing.
1. Learn how to manage your money in FOREX, indices (like S&P 500, Nasdaq, Nikkei) where the transaction is leveraged (up to 400x your deposit) which is very lucrative, but also very risky. Try to learn with demo account, and perhaps once you are already very good at it - open a mini account (starting a few hundred dollars).
2. Learn investing in stocks, or options. Probably a little slow. Gonna have to wait months and years before your equity grows.
If investing gets complicated, or take too long to learn. Why not learn business. Like eBay business, or global trading business, involving import export. Buy some books, talk to some senior business people doing just these kind of things. Research, research and more research.
Try to budget your lifestyle during your study period. Its just not funny if by the time you got all the knowledge. The capital is not there anymore :P hehe
Well, can talk to me for resources of references to study. I always think extra brain is better than just mine alone, or my friends.
Good luck Sir :)

With any amount of money this large, you should first invest it into a bank. Let the interest grow until you decide what to do with it, and ask your banker to advise you periodically.

Are you sure you really won that amount? Most of them are outright scams. So, check before spending more money to get that big amount. Engage professional financial advisers to help you invest properly and wisely.

You are going to have everyone in the world asking you for a handout. I wouldn't announce it to the world. Is this for real or is it a scam?
