no, you can't. you can let them out on bail,so they rape, molest, murder, rob and anything else they damn well please and there is nothing we can do about it because we would abuse their rights.

You bring up a good point, if you are charged with a violent you should not be able to post bail and go free till your next court appearance.

I see where you're going with this. And it's not that I don't agree with you (part of me does) but you have to take into account a very large part of our society that puts us apart from many other nations in this screwed up world. Innocent until proven guilty. Bail is more for those who waiting for trial. You pay their bail, they don't have to wait in jail for their trial, which they are entitled to. If there wasn't bail, everyone, from traffic tickets to murder would have to wait in jail for months at a time waiting a trial. You can't pick and choose who gets to go and who doesn't so the system has to be in place. I know what you mean though, if we would keep the bad people off the streets for good, there would be less crime but there are always the cases where good are paying for what the bad do and this is why there is such laws out there.

I don't have an example, but I agree. They should not allow bail for certain crimes at all. It's bad enough they still have rights, and get off on mere technicalities. I know the system is there to protect the innocent, but what about the innocent bystanders, the children and the families left gieving?
