Don't know about now but when I was a child (OMG that was so many years ago) my grandmother crocheted a little frog that could be opened and left over soap put in. That memory had left me until now. I want to thank you for bringing it back. It worked great then. If you know someone who can crochet.

Thanks again for the wonderful memory!

Soap was rationed during and after the war 1952
I remember having to press the thin old sliver against the new bar, for some reason it worked.

I read somewhere that you can cut the bottom portion off of an old pair of nylon stockings, put the pieces of soap in there, and use it as a loofah.

When I was a child, my mon used to put them all into a wide mouth mason jar and add a little water. Then you just scooped a little out and used like soap.

She also used to wash plastic sandwich bags and hang them up on the line to dry. and washed the garbage (milk cartons, egg cartons and so on)

Another household use, if your bar soap is white, use it to rub over small nail hails in your walls. It fills the holes in as easily as putty would!

Put it on the threads of screws when your setting cabinets. It makes the screws go in so much easier.
