I have a 95 sunfire. Somethimes I get a loud vibrating noise when driving. but not always. the best way I can describe it, kinda sounds like a big fan. But if I turn the wheel slightly right it stops completely. Of course my car beings to drifting right so I can't hold it in that position. The sound, sounds like it is coming from the engine area. I had the tires replaced and balanced, but I still have the same problem. Plz help I'm getting tired of this noise.

it can possibly be wheel bearing, if all your tire check out fine.
you can take it to local auto shop, or if you know someone with an ear for finding noises. good luck

12000 is also on the right track. quick check : turn your wheels all the way to one side, look for the rubber boot near the center ,it may be torn and grease has cover alot of parts.

Sounds like the cv joint. If it were a wheel bearing for the most part the noise would be consistant.:D

if it is a rear wheel drive car it could be the transmition mount when you accelerate it allows the trany to move slightly to one side and the ujoint will hit the seatbelt bolt or something else under the car you also have some other prety good answers also if this is the problem the mount should be no more than $20.00 and its not a big job to fix but if thats the problem it could wear through the drive shaft and cost a hole lot more good luck

it sounds like you have a wheel bearing going out on it,that will cause the noise your describing, and the pulling your talking about, take it to a shop and have them check it,they will know what to listen for to help find it,good luck on it.

First impressions are a tire out of balance or a wheel bering loose or dry. Could also be a CV joint going bad.Any shop can pin point that readly.....George

They probably got the wheel bearings either too tight or too loose.
