Yeah, I always get sick with jealousy when I think about them. Bloody Mongolians, pushing everyone about. (Whaaa...?)

Well for a start, Mongolia has got Genghis Khan. We do not have anyone anything like him here in UK, not now and not in our history.
Problem is that very little of Mongolian history is ever taught in schools in the UK.
I was in school UK in the 1940s and 1950s and the emphasis on history then was more to do with the war years. I do however remember being taught something of Genghis and his great victories and of the Mongol Empire stretching from China all the way into Persia and I think also some parts of Europe.

Are people jealous of the history of the Great Mongolian Nation?
Are you asking whether we are jealous of the people who have lived in Mongolia, or the events which have taken place there?
Or are you suggesting that the history is so well documented that other nations' historians would like to be able to know as much about the history of their countries?

I think you'd find that few people could tell you anything about Mongolia. They don't know enough to be jealous. While Genghis Khan and his descendants are little-appreciated rulers in the West, and overdo for reexamination, basing a nation's claims to greatness on events that took place hundreds of years ago is always going to arouse more pity than envy. Mongolia has a lot of potential, but they need to focus on accomplishments today.

Perhaps the trouble with Mongol history is that it was written by the people and rulers they vanquished and of course they did not do Mongolia any favours the Tibetans it seems viewed the Khans quite differently and one of them had a Buddhist teacher and might in fact have been a Buddhist not a follower of Islam.

Well you're WRONG on both points you make!
I dont think anyone is jealous of Mongolia, it is a pretty irrelevant country today.
Also, what did the Mongolians ever Invent? Nothing!
I have no problem with Mongolian history, for a time they were the worlds greatest military power, and you should be proud of that!
But the Khans betrayed their own culture by becoming MUSLIMS! That is something to be ashamed of, as Islam is EVIL!

I didn't realize so many people were jealous of the great Mongolian Nation. I think to be jealous of something, you need to know something about it. I find myself admittedly ignorant of the culture. What did they do? I'm eager to appreciate.

These Central Asian cities that your people overran .. Samarkand .. Bukhara .. and others .. used to be heavily populated centres of Buddhist learning. Thriving metropolises of commerce and trade.
After your people visited, they were so laid waste that they never recovered. Later invaders resulted in the introduction of Islam .. which is what they remain today.
The Mongol horde have a great history indeed, not dissimilar to Hitlers Germany or Pol Pots Cambodia.

All I know is what I learned in the history books, hordes of Mongolian invaders who razed everything, and did so much destruction that it took a long time to recover.
The Mongols were feared, they were not admired.

Genghis Khan and the Mongols invented the postal service - a chain of post-stations across all Asia. I'm jealous of that!
