400,000 dollars. Not like any of the presidents have actually needed it. Most of them come from rich families they should just turn down a salary.

I don't know. But In India there was one Chief Minister (Head of a state) got 1 Rupee (1 US$ = 40 Rupees) as her monthly salary. :)
