The metal mercury is a natural mineral, just like iron or gold.
The planet Mercury is usually lost in the glare of the Sun as seen from Earth, so many people who have seen Venus or Jupiter have never seen it. Even at the best of orbital positions it is seen low on the horizon at twilight or observed in daylight on a very clear day, if you can get the telescope pointed at something you can't see without a telescope. Plus there is the added danger of accidentally pointing the telescope at the nearby Sun.

If you mean mercury element that liquid metal, it comes from a heart of a diynig star. A very big one that has died in a shiny explosion called Super Nova. Stars create heavy elements out of hydrogen in their core, but they do it until they produce Iron, heavier elements are created at a very moment of explosions of these very big stars.
But if by mercury you ment planet mercury, it has came from the same dust cloud that forms sun and us, that means at the same time that our planet has been formed

Do you mean the metal?
Or the Planet?
If you mean the planet, it was formed by dust collecting after our sun was created. Dust began to swirl around the sun and as it collided, the planets were formed.

Since you're asking in this section I assume you're asking about the planet? Same as with the other planets, debris that was pulled into an orbit.
