Are your parents going to finance your studies? If they are going to pay for it, then study to be a lawyer. That way, you will always have something to fall back on if your acting career is not successful. You can always take drama classes too.

But . . .
If your parents are not going to finance your studies, if you are paying for them yourself . . . then study drama or whatever you wish. Good luck to you.

And remember Fred Thompson . . .

Do both, many of some of the top actors and actresses today went to college to become Dr's, Lawyers and other professionals, but ended up becoming entertainers.

So u can do that, it's always good to have something to fall back on in case acting don't pan out, or u can be a lawyer for the stars. =-)

Whatever u do just make sure u do a very good job, give it Ur best and see where it lands ya

Good Luck

Always follow your heart no body lives your life but you. I am sure your parents have your best interest at heart and are looking at your future. I would ask for a year in theater and show them how well you can do. Life isn't always about money it is about being happy in what your doing, you only go around once why spend your whole life being a lawyer when you don't want to be and if your being pushed into it I am sure your grades will not be that good because your not going to give it your all

well u can study to be a lawyer and while at law school join the theater group and see how well you do and you can continue to act.

There is no rule which says that a lawyer cannot be an actor or that an actor cannot be a lawyer !!

Follow your dream, and if you can please your parents too - you get the best of both the worlds.

THERE AIN'T NO DIFFERENCE !!! To be a good lawyer you gotta be an actor/actress too. It all fits together.

I would go with the parents on this because you can do acting as well which was suggested earlier.

Good Luck

PS. Wish my parents had been wealthy enough to send me to law school....

You're parents have dreams for you but your own dreams come first. If you're parents want you to be a lawyer that badly that they will make you not live your dream then they are not very good parents. Talk to them. If they love you then they'll understand.

LOOK INTO BOTH PROFESSIONS THOROUGHLY AND TALK AND VISIT WITH ACTRESSES AND THEATRE PEOPLE. LOOK FOR SCHOOLS THAT TRAIN ACTRESSES AND ACTORS ON THE INTERNET ETC. WHATEVER MOTIVATES YOU AND MAKES YOU HAPPIEST THEN FOLLOW THE GLEAM. !!
