18 yrs of age be required to register and be drafted just like men?
During a recent Democratic debate, both Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama indicated that all female U.S. citizens should register for the Selective Service. Neither candidate was as ridiculous as former Alaska Sen. Mike Gravel, who said, when it comes to men and women being drafted, "What's the difference?" But the radical and dangerous implications of the front-runners' policies are not that far from Gravel's query.

Well logically it should all be based on need. If we really NEED an emergency supply of soldiers, what makes a better soldier? Men or women? Men. Is that sexist? No. Im making the simple statement that men tend to be better in emergencies because of their brain chemistry, and they have more upper body strength.
With that being said, do we not have enough men in the US to draft from?
The battlefield is a place for men, it always has been. If women CHOOSE to be there, that cant be helped and they shouldnt be kept away unless it is shown they cant do the job. There are some women that are very cut out for it. But does that mean we consider pressing them into service? Of coarse not, especially when its not necessary.
BUT, the idea that democrats' liberalism is causing gender confusion shouldnt be any surprise. Liberalism, much like communism, makes the fundamental assumption that mankind has all authority on earth (not God) and therefore "writes the book" on things like morality and basic ideals of how things ought to be rather than looking at God or Biblical models.

None of the above I served in the Navy in the 80's and 90's so I don't see them needing a broken down old salt like me again. The ship class I was on are all decommissioned and most are at the bottom of the ocean or razor blades by now. However, I would advise my kids to enlist or join ROTC (if they were in college) so they would have a choice of what to do with their service. Not serving is not an option. Cowardice and self-preservation did not make this country, sacrifice to something greater than yourself did.

First of all we shouldn't have a draft, especially for wars built upon lies. Secondly though, the U.S. Constitution and Supreme Court says that everyone is equal despite their race, sex, religion, etc. If everyone is equal, why are women the only ones singled-out from the draft? Doesn't sound like equality to me. Just because their bodies are meant to bear children doesn't mean they shouldn't be forced in a draft to defend their country.

If there is a draft, of course women should be included. I am amazed that this would even be a question in this day and age. Our ally Israel has required women to serve in their military for as long as I can remember, and I have not heard that it did them any harm and if this has changed it was certainly kept on the hush-hush.
What is radical and dangerous about equal responsibility/equal risk??

What about single mothers? What about couples that both get drafted? You can preach about equal rights all day long, but I don't think women should get drafted to fight in combat. I know if I got drafted, I would be pregnant real quick - what would they do then?

Yes, I feel they should, what else have the feminists been fighting for but equal rights, and that means equal rights all the way around - and includes equal responsibilities.

No. If the MEN of this country are too damm sorry to defend it, we don't deserve to be free. Women should serve only on a voluntary basis.

No they should not be drafted like men. I think they they should be able to volunteer for combat, but not be drafted into it. Going to be hard to find babysitters for all the single mothers out there.
