i thought we did basically bring it into existance, by labeling what it is, deciding what is a sin and what is not, etc

"SIN" does NOT exist spontaneously... Mankind creates sin by his very actions in everyday life. "Sin" can scarcely be avoided, yet, fortunately for the kinder, softer souls among you, there are varying levels of "sin". Each man or woman must define THEIR very own "Tolerance Level" of "sin": An act that one is not comfortable with or, perhaps, cannot live with the shame thereof, will help each of you determine the degree of YOUR own personal tolerance of the emotion that you call "sin". This very system works quite well for ME.

I would still think sin is a figment of man's imagination.

-.- Most people say animals don't sin, because they don't know right from wrong, but we MAJICKALY do. This of course is false. HOW do we know right from wrong? You can't trust the Bible because there coudl be mistranslations, misconceptions, misinterpretations, changing of the stories when orally passed down, ect. This goes with most religious books. Also we DON"T know what is right or wrong, or best and worst for that matter, because we aren't omniscient. We don't know all the effects (the effects will last for eternity). For example what is right/best to do if someone falls down and asks for help to get back up? If you pick him up, he will get up. BUt then his legs wouldn't get that extra work, making them weaker. So in future falls he is more likely to NEED help getting up, as his legs weaken because of less activity and also his mind grows accustum to it. He won't be used to the effort. But if you instead incourage him to get up himself, his want wouldn't be filled. But his legs will grow stronger, as well as a stronger sense of independency. So if he falls down in the bathtub, he will be able to get up on his own, and not drown.... So which IS right/best?

I know that is a bad example >_>

Interesting question -- need 2 clarifications please. What do you mean by "bring it into existence"? It comes with you as soon as you're born? Secondly, the "you were told" thing. Does it matter what you are told if there is a definitive answer already in place? For example, if you were told that 2+2=17, that would not make it so (just for example).

Sin is sin. You can't avoid it. Everyone does it. No one is perfect. You are not born with it. It is something you learn from those around you. You just have to try to live a good life and try not to sin much, or commit the unforgivable ones.

Of course, your actions are under your direct control. Any sinning that you do is of your own creation.

Your desires originate in your mind. Any sinning that you do is of your own creation.
