Some people come to earth, without that spinning register that can simultaneously, watch the eyes, hear the story, know the feasibility, and calculate the probability of what they are hearing, all at one time. Sometimes having a sheltered childhood where no one lied is another reason. You just cannot see a reason WHY a lie is necessary.

I read a book on body language, which emphasized detecting deception. It's called "Never be Lied to Again" by David Lieberman (I think), which makes it easy for me to escape the grasp of liarly liars.

They don't think people would just lie to them for no reason. When I was a kid, my Dad used to jokingly feed me a lot of BS for the fun of it, because he knew I would believe him. Unfortunately, after he had a good laugh to himself, he would never tell me he was joking. I believed a lot a crap growing up. I also think it has to do with the fact that I had a wild imagination, so even things out of the ordinary seemed interesting. I eventually grew out of it, although, some people will always believe everything they hear.

If you mean regarding a person whom you have direct contact with I think they most likely are gullible. But if you mean the gov't I would say because we want to believe our "leaders". Experience in life usually changes this with time. Thank God.

Because those lies sound so good. It could be gullibility, or it could be that they have heard what they want to hear, and though they know better, it makes them happy.

when someones lying to you, "body-language" is not the thing to watch for. Just watch their eyes ! Then you'll know. And if you can't figure it out even then, you'd probably be the first one to write a check when you found out the Brooklyn Bridge was up for sale !

Gullible, that's what they call me sometimes. They have trust in an individual and can't see past the lies.

People like to believe the worst about others. It makes them feel better about themselves.
