My husband has been in Iraq for over a year, but I still get nervous being alone in the house at night. I feel like a big baby.

I have spent almost my entire adult life alone, so I do not fully understand. I think that if you feel frightened, you should learn self defense or something to give you self confidence that you are able to handle anything as well as anyone else. I understand that you wish your partner were there and miss him, but get the confidence necessary to handle things alone when necessary, it will also help you be a stronger partner for him. As retired military myself, contact the base for a wives support group and maybe the recreation or MWR centers.

awww...Sorry to hear that. I don't get nervous anymore, but I've had lots of experience at being nervous.

Sometimes, yes. I have the company of my best friends - my dogs. They alert me of any unusual happenings. Perhaps, if you like dogs & can have one, you'll feel better.
