QB is still the hardest position because they have to run the offense and be a leader even if he doesn't want to be. Any other position you can just do you're job and that's all that is expected of you. QBs must know their playbooks inside and out for passing and running plays while defensive players have a smaller playbook. Also QBs usually have to shoulder most of the blame if the team loses. It probably not as physically harder than any other position besides K/P but it's tops when it comes to mental preparation and leadership ability.

i think the Quarterback position is the hardest to play. The QB controls the entire offense. He's got to make the call at the line depending on what the defense is showing him. Then when the ball is snapped, he's got a few split seconds to decide where to deliver the ball among many options.
Other positions like RB or WR hard difficult as well, but the plays are already called and all they have to do is use their athleticism to find the holes.
Thats why QB's get paid the most.

QB is yhe hardest position to play simply due to this fact: You must know everybodies job on every play. You must make sure that everyone is lined up properly before the snap plus you must be able to read the defense each play, and if you are in the wrong play, you must be able to audible. On top of all that you must be able to figure out what the defense's overall scheme is by half time so you can adjust. That is the difference between QB's like Rex Grossman and Peyton Manning. Rex started off fast and then was clueless, while Manning was feeling out the defense and got better as the game went along. (Last Super Bowl is a perfect example)

sure qb is a hard position but not the hardest that would be center an corner. at center you have to worry about the snap then blocking so you can either snap a bad ball and cost your team a turnover and you could focus so much on the snap that the nose tackle lays you on your butt and and gets a sack. and at corner unless your running a 4.2 there is no room for mistake if tyou take a false step a skilled reciever will blow rite past you and is wide open for a big gain or even a touch down. at running back any body can pick up a ball and run with it. sure some are really good. but unless the runningback fumbles who gets blamed for a loss of yard or a bad run the O-line so yeah runningback depends alot on the line. and fullback is hard as hell to play havig to block physco linebackers running ful speed at your running back but it gets confusing. And all of the extremely hard positions are basicly thankless jobs.

Good points, but while a CB can give up 7 points, a QB can give up the whole game. RB is the hardest position to play physically all the punishment they take. Most of them are washed up before there 28. So yeah QB mentally is the hardest position and RB physically is the hardest!

The hardest position to play is the QB position, there are to many thing you need to understand to play this position. You need the understanding of the offense and know how to read the defense, so you can adjust your play calling by call audibles to change your play at the line of scrimmage. The Running back position is the easiest position to play and have a high reward in return. Pretty much like a run forward position and try to get alot of yard i guess.

While a QB has to know EVERYTHING about his offense, he also must know about the opponents defense.
On the flip side. . .
LBs and DBs need to know ALL about their defense and about the offense their opponents are running.
RBs get their butts kicked on every play. they probably go home the most sore.
In the end I lean towards the O-line, with emphasis on the center. Having to know snap counts and play calls you also have to get every pass rusher and block for the running back. If you had Warren Sapp or Reggie White barreling down on you, I think you would agree that that is the most difficult position of all.

From personal experience, Quarterback is the hardest to play. It doesn't require great athleticism or takes the most punishment, but the mental aspect of it is overwhelming to people. Like people have stated, the Quarterback needs to know EVERYONE'S assignment on offense; maybe not to every little detail, but has to have a good underastanding of them. He's the guy who has the know the opposing defense in and out in order to call the right play as many times as he can to lead his team to victory. No knock on Runningbacks, but very few of them have the knowledge and awareness of defenses that is required for a quarterback.
Personally evey position every position is tough because you have to know it in and out to be good at it, but as stated, the mental aspect of playing Quarterback is overwhelming, which is why very few pan out to be great, not good, but great QB's at the professional level.

QB is tops by far! Then linebackers and defensive backs. Those are the ones who have to make quick decisions.

Quarterback is the hardest position. They usually have to know where the other positions have to be and what special things to do. They also set up the protection schemes.
