Maybe this exchange student just got mad at you because that is all people seem to associate Germany with. Germany has a long history of achievements and culture to be proud of, yet people can only talk about the holocaust. Germany, unlike Japan, HAS admitted to its war atrocities, and has made reparations for them. Germany gives a yearly subsidy to Israel. Germany teaches about the holocaust in its schools. Hell, they even have a Holocaust Museum in Berlin now, the capital of Nazi Germany. Germany has admitted and owned its sorrowful past. As opposed to Japan, who deliberately re-write history, and do NOT teach their students about their treachery in the bombing of Pearl Harbor and the Rape of Nanking.

REad books, watch the movies, talk to people who've been there and judge for yourself if it is consistent evidence for you. It is hard to find people who've been there since they are all very old now and were in the holocaust as young children but YES it DID happen! Why do you think Hitler (and Osama)crawled into caves to hide? Perhaps many people will deny the awful things going on in Iraq too because they feel justified in what they are doing, it just depends on a persons point of view. Killing is killing and there are NO right ways to completely justify it.....Maybe of course unless you ARE saddam or Husein or Bush??

Yes it did. If you go online many sources are wrong. Obviously the people who wrote that it didn't pay much attention in school. Do you think they would make a holocaust memorial museum if it didn't actually happen? BTW-Don't look up info on Wikipedia because anyone can just edit info. Get info from books.

The Jews did not suffer in Germany because there was no Holocaust. Actually it was the Jews that was torturing the poor blond haired deprived Germans. Those tattoos on the Jews arms and hands that are still alive today (by the grace of God) are really there because they want to be hip.
OTHER CONSPIRACIES TO THINK ABOUT:
1. We knew the Japanese were going to bomb Pearl Harbor before they did. I mean come-on President Roosevelt liked the thought of our boys baking inside the Battle Ship Arizona before they died. The President was looking for a better way to get a good nights sleep.
2. America did not land on the Moon. We payed billions of dollars for the 360 foot Saturn 5 rocket so we could look at it and say wow that is a big rocket. We kept approx. 400,000 technicians, scientists and construction contractors quiet, with zero leaks to the public. The rocks that we thought that came from moon and have proved to be from the moon are really from the Pacific Ocean.
3. The Mafia whacked JFK, via the Russian connection, via the Cuban connection.... The man on the grassy knoll was a CIA agent acting on orders from Giancana from Chicago and Marcello from New Orleans, with duplicity from Castro and Kruschev....true story.
4. Aliens landed in Roswell and we transported them to Area 51 to back engineer their technology, where do you think the stealth air craft came from? Again, we kept it secret by brain washing the thousands of workers who were in on the scam.
5. The Moon we see every night is really not there along with the planets, stars as well as the Planet Killing Asteroids. Those were put there by the evil United States to toy with our minds.
6. The fossils of homo eructus, neandertals and 15 other hominids that are extinct were put there by paleotologists, archeologists, and assorted rock hounds to enhance their careers. Creationism is the only reality.
7. America is a conspiracy and is a fake country and none of us Americans really live here.
8. I was never born so this response to your question is a fake.

If someone's relatives were helping to send the jews to their death, they would:
- deny they had anything to do with it.
- deny that so many died
- deny that it even happened in their area
- accuse the victims af trying to insult their relatives
- deny ... you get the idea
I knew someone from Austria who was a kid in the 70s. He would listen to his uncles talk about the WW II years. None admitted to know anything about the holocaust ... but ...
... when a Jewish song became popular on radio back then, they told him they had heard the song from people in box cars in the 1940s. So he thought the song was 30 years old.
But "By the Waters of Babylon" is an Old Testament Psalm from the time the Jews were taken into forced slavery and their homes destroyed from 2500 years ago.
If those WW II axis veterans heard that song in the 40s, it was from Jews under very harsh suffering.

My mother has a scar on her left forearm where the tattoo was removed using hot water, salt and a knife.
Yes, it happened. There is no evidence that it never happened; there are, however, a lot of people who a) ignore large bodies of evidence and b) twist other facts in order to make it look like it never happened. Anyone who does this (regardless of the subject matter) is trying to manipulate you into playing his game his way by his rules.

I am 55 and I knew people who survived the death (concentration) camps - yes, it happened and while Hitler did amazing things to give Germany back its economy, he was mentally unstable and his instability caused him to see things very askew - he began to believe that only Arian bloodlines were pure and worthy of being continnued. He began a pogram to kill those not pure - Jewish, gypsy, some who did not look like his ideal German. The Holocaust happened because he was bringing glory to Germany and people allowed him to continue in his madness because they were gaining territory, world power and prestige. When the positive aspects began to wane, his followers began to leave and/or kill themselves to avoid the end result of being tried for their crimes. Some of the good things to come out of that horror was the medical information which eventually led to transplant and twin studies done under real and ethical standards.

Yes it happened!
These "sources" that say it didnt are all 'White supremists' (aka Nazis) who want to brainwash you into thinking that Hitler and his National Socialism were a good thing!
Dont ever believe what others say just because they say it. If you want to know, find out for YOURSELF, even if it means going to the site of the death camps and seeing it first hand!

If you were to ask that in Germany you could be arrested and serve up to 5 years in the nick. One of the reasons the nazi apologist "historian" David Irving can't go there anymore.
