DD, no i wasn`t joking, at the end of todays match they were at the top, and as a Man u fan it would be great if it could end up #1 Man u, #2 Sunderland #3 Birmingham #4 Reading at the end of the season.

yeah it would be good to see all of fergies apprentices finishing in the top half of the table.
i think sunderland have the squad and the backroom staff to reach a european place this year and hopefully they do.
sunderland have always been a good team to watch except 2 seasons ago when things looked stale, but this year a bottom half finish?NO WAY,expect a top 8 finish at least.
im a man u fan. <>

sunderland hardly had a shot at goal against useless tottenham at home.
so back down they will go or just survive no more then that

Just want to have a go at this answerer before i answer your question if you don't mind.
Did you watch the game? Sunderland actually created more chances than Tottenham, we had 4 clear cut chances that should have been put away.
Tottenham only looked poor because Mcshane and Nosworthy played really well and had the supposed "star strikeforce" of Spurs at bay.
Anyway, back to the origninal question. Before today i would have said you were being optimistic. Now though, i think it's a distinct possibilty that we will have a top 10 finish.
Ha'way the lads!!!

Sunderland at the top??? Good God, are you mad? It's always good to see all the North-East's main teams in the Premiership, but when the "mackems" wind up at the bottom again and are subsequently relegated, will I shed any tears for them?
Y'er must be bloody jokin' man!
I never could stand Roy Keane when he played for the manky urinals, and now that he's managing (?) the mackems, I hate him even more.
Big Sam Allardyce and the Mags will reign supreme this season.

Oh yea, if Keano keeps the boys whipped into place like he did last season.
However I think for the time-being the boys need to concentrate on REMAINING in the Premier League, not just winning. If our hearts are set on winning, we may loose tact and slip back down :(
H'away the lads! Course we're doing well so far :D
