Take a bowl of white distilled vinegar. Put a couple drops of Dawn brand dish soap into it and then set it by the kitchen sink or by any large houseplants you have. Good luck. It works! =) They love the smell of vinegar and drown in it. Then the dish soap drags them to the bottom.

I had the same problem years ago and I went to the pet store and bought one of those jobbies that hang on the side of the bird cage for flying pests and I hung it near the area where most of the gnats were seen and viola' never to be seen again! This was the only thing that would work!

Kep all doors and windows tightly closed, or covered with good screens. Get rid of any exposed food. The gnats you have will die within a day and no new ones will get in.

Get rid of all garbage and put fruits and veggies in a closed container or in the fridge. Then spray with an indoor fly killer and keep all food items put away at all times so they won't come back.

Get rid of the funk that is attracting them to the house. Something is either intensely funky, rotting, mildewing, or dead. That is the only reason knats would be around. So you all need to go on an investigation and find the culprit and either bathe it, clean it, or throw it away!!!!

I agree with DeeLee's answer. My granddaughter had a habit of eating junk food in her room and dumping stuff in her trash can. We finally found the source so investigate and find where the problem is, then take action.

Get rid of all fruit outside of your fridge. Get rid of all sweet smelling oders. Put vinegar into small bowels and set them out in each room.
