My HP deskjet 610C is not printing. When I give the print command from Word or any other program, it first appears in that thing that comes when you click the printer but then it says deleting and it never prints. I'm using the printer on my hp laptop on windows xp.

You may want to check that the pages are being routed to the HP Deskjet 610C instead of an application such as Adobe PDF or Microsoft Image Writer, etc. You can check this by selecting file, print and looking at the name section to ensure that the Deskjet is listed.

Sometimes it may require you to actually pull the power adapter from the printer to reset it.
On rare occasion, it may require you to redownload the cd drivers to the computer you use.
