my daughter has a 1989 honda and it will not start. she brought it home and went to go out again and it would not start. My husband has put a new battery and a new starter fuse in it and it still will not turn over, when we try to start it nothing happens. no noise at all. does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it? Or how hard it could be to fix? Thanks!!!!

DO NOT hit that starter with a hammer, it will destroy it. Its a permenant magnet starter and hitting them with a hammer kills them. well not knowing if its an automatic or a stick this leaves the table wide open. what you have to do is test the little wire going to the starter as someone is turning the key. there needs to be power there. if the isnt then we need more info before we can help

starter fuse or main fuse, there is a main fusible link near the battery,, if the car wil not turn over then the starter is not getting any voltage through the ignition switch, your hubby needs to invest in a trouble shoot light and look around car, and check fuses,

The starter has frozen.

Try smacking it with a hammer.

It might free up enough to send her back home at least.

I am guessing that is the problem - GO HONDA

1989 - and still going - what Kia would do that? - NONE
