I looking in getting a new car around march or april 2008. I have up to 8k to spend and I looking for my options. The top of my list is a 1999 or greater Toyota Celica GT. I have a Vibe GT and everyone loves it. It is the same body style as Toyota Matrix and surprising interior room and performance.

honestly if you want a good low budget gt car you will need to go back to some first generation cars.
1990-1994 Eagle Talon- Awd -Turbo. Very quick. Es. 5000 for a good one
Celicas are a very good choice but again if you go with 1st gen youll get more bang for your buck.
I have even seen Supras( first and second gen) between 4 and 10 grand.
if you want a good list try yahoo auto. just search for any car under 10 grand and in the word search box type GT or Type-R
