While visiting Buffalo, NY, I found myself (along with my son and nephew) walking across an old, metal bridge that didn't look too stable. You could look down and see the rapids. It was pretty scary. I can't believe I did that!! Got to the Canadian side. Of course, I was in my 30s at the time.

Has to be when I rented a Ryder Truck for $400 of my last $600 and packed up my furnishings, my kids and two dogs, and towed a VW Beetle to move us all from California to Virginia. I had been told the truck got 12 mpg, but that was a generous estimate. Eight was more like it.

We had a blowout in the middle of the night in the middle of Texas. Ryder sent someone out within an hour.

We ran out of money in Jackson, Tenn., and were stranded at a truck stop over the weekend until my Mom returned home from her weekend at the river and could wire me $50 more so I could finish the trip.

All's swell that ends swell.

Got home in time to get the children enrolled in school and darned if they didn't want me to PROVE that we were residents of that snotty county. The principal said "People will lie about where they live to get their children into our schools." Oh, spare me!

Stopped at the site of a freeway accident where a transport truck carrying metal rebar had hit a bridge abutment. The load broke free from the bed and ended up spearing the driver in place (right through his abdomen).

Being an ex-Armed Forces medic, I carried an extensive field dressing kit in my truck. And it came in handy that day, to put pressure bandaging on around the wounds.

Unfortunately, it seemed like a few drivers had to almost pile into the back of the truck before they realized that they needed to stop. (My own truck was pulled well off onto the hill at the side.)

When the cops showed up, they told me to just carry on what I was doing, and took care of directing traffic instead. When the firemen showed up with their own paramedics I gladly handed over the responsibility for that man's life to them.

I called off my wedding a week before it was supposed to happen because I didn't love my fiance. It was the talk of the town for a long time. I eventually fell in love with a wonderful man, and we have been together for 30 years.

My wife and I went para sailing at age 60, it was really relaxing, a quiet smooth ride. I got a little anxious when the dipped us in the ocean before bringing us back to the boat.
It was a good experience. I plan on skydiving next year at age 62.

I went and got a tattoo the day that I decided to finally get a divorce. My "ex" has never seen it, and he would have loved it but been mortified. It is small, discreet, and in a private place.

Racing our hydroplane, my husband was a top contender, I could never beat him. I did make some guys VERY angry when I beat them. Oh, hydroplane is a fast boat.
