There are variety of reasons but the most prominent can be summarized as follows;-(1)economic reasons like better standard of life in USA(2).Russian Gris make better traditional wives than American girls.(3).Preference of American males for them Visa vis American girls(4).More freedom for them in American society.Some of the reasons could be personalised on case to case basis but the outstanding reason is that over a period of time,American wives are seen to have become too demanding ,as percieved by the men.

I personally think there are WAY more Russian women married to Russian men then American men.

there was a 60 minutes report of a "matchmaker"...put your photo in a book or online..market it to men who felt they wanted a bombshell, and/or couldn't get American women interested...fly you to Russia to meet her... FOR A FEE. You get the picture. Most come here, stay with them for the required time, and ditch them. It's an in to the USA. Capitalism at its best!

In addition to any other reasons, there's the green card. Russia was pretty effectively trashed by the Soviets, and they'd rather live here.
