I use a spray bottle with half bleach and half water. Spray it directly on, soak it, and it will go away.

Caused from over grown shrubs or plants and maybe not too much sun in that area. Concrete is very porous so to do it right you should rent or borrow a power washer. You'll need to put that tip about 5 to 6 inches away from your concrete and I guarantee those steps will look like new. NEVER put paint on a sidewalk or deck, you want to use a concrete "Stain" on it, anything you walk on use a stain. Good luck Les the painter

If the tint is due to algae growth use distilled vinegar and a stiff brush or broom. Vinegar will kill the algae and bleach the color from the steps. If you have colored concrete (colorant added to concrete mix when poured) you are stuck with it, the color goes all the way through.

tsp substitute..available at wal mart or any diy store... I am a 37 year experienced painter and I use this for mildew removal ,stains etc...Bleach is okay..but bleach will kill the mildew also, but will not also take alot of other stains away, shoe marks, inks, crayons etc...You can also mix it with bleach for added insurance if you like
