most likely u have spyware or Trojan in ur system...happened to me once. turn off ur internet connection, so the virus/spyware can't communicate via internet, and run Ad-Aware, and a virus scan.....hopefully whatever the problem is will be detected...
here's a link for ad-aware:

There's a great possibility that viruses are causing this... I once had an experience similar to that...my browser just keeps on refreshing and refreshing and to stop it, I either restart the computer or shut it down through the power button on the cpu..

Run a manual virus scan. If you don't have an anti-virus sw, then go to TrendMicro's website, there you can get a free online scan done of your PC.
Is it shutting down and restarting on one particular site or on all sites? If its one site then it maybe a buggy website, if its the latter then I would certainly start scanning your computer.
good luck

go to www.microsoft.com and dowload Windows Defender, then go to free.grisoft.com and download the free AVG antivirus. Run both and the problems should go away.

Which version are you using? Do you get any error messages? And last, be sure that you don't have any viruses, or spy ware programs that are causing this.
