Can you type without looking at the keys?

Yes. Back in 1969, when electric typewriters started becoming "in-use" everywhere, my mother enrolled me in a typing class. Boys did not take typing classes.... So I hated it.

BUT, that typing class opened doors for me, a lot of doors, at jobs where they needed someone who could type, fast, accurately, and not look at the keys.

Computers came later, and even then not too many people can type without looking. At my job, I type faster than everyone. 1,800 employees. I have been tested.

Yes...easily...I completed typing by the year 89. If you are interested, it takes only a minimum of 4 months to complete. But if not..then I can't judge you. I never look on the keyboard. Besides..you should have a good sitting position, well balanced chair..and the keyboard should be at wait level. Then you can obtain maxi speed !!!

you will type faster, because you're coaching your physique to bear in mind the place the keys are. once you look @ the keyboard, you're literally looking the significant along with your eyes and then surprising the significant along with your finger. it is going to take longer. studying to type the right way might take a sprint beyond common time, besides the undeniable fact that that is going to keep you hundreds of time later.

I type without looking at the keys with the exception of numbers(I have to look), I always screw them up.

I can but out of habit I usually look at the keys. I make fewer typos that way too.
