what you should do is fill a water bottle with your pool ater and take it to your local pool store, theyll give you chemicals to put in

Sounds like you need to shock your pool. After you shock it you need to put this stuff called "deets" (sp) it is like a powder clay that goes into the baskets and into the filter to help filter out all of the stuff. Of course chlorine. Ask your pool guy at the store, he knows. It doesn't cost that much.

Shock it. You can buy shock a most department stores during the summer. You should check you water with a test kit, also available a most department stores. I get mine from Wal-mart. A cheaper route is just plain bleach, the cheap stuff works fine.

id have to test it to tell u what chemistry to put in, if its really green and icky, u need to drain it. green is usually algae, take a water sample to your local pool supply store and they will analyze it and tell u exactly what u need. water sample is about 2 cups or so.

Sounds like you have an algae growth going on, I would ask a pool expert on that one.

Use Super-shock, run the filter, and wait a couple days That should do the trick.
