Decline a transaction because of insufficient funds

OR

Allow you to make the purchase and charge you the overdraft fees...

Why?

DECLINE--- because they are money hungry and just want to steal from me! Heck, they already are making interest off any money you put in the bank (even off of non-interest accounts). I am Muslim so I don't prosper from the interest anyway.

I can live with the embarrassment of being declined.

I'd choose the Military every time. What should have been done is let those banks AND other companies fall if they could not make a profit. Then cut taxes for all those that PAY taxes - especially capital gains tax - [Ireland cut her Cap Gains tax a bunch a couple yrs ago and is now the fastest growing economy in the world - does that tell you anything?] The Stimulus and the Health Care plans are financial nightmares. Should not have been done. We need to get short term limits in effect, stop the Congress from adding pork to bills that are totally unrelated to what they are 'sticking' in there, repeal the McCain-Feingold bill and put in a real law stopping that corruption by our Congress and the Lobbyists [I think we should outlaw Lobbyists contributions in any way shape or form], go to a flat tax as soon as possible. We would pull out of this after a time of desolation but we are Americans and we can stand some desolation to get the mess in hand.

charge me on overdraft fees and allow me to make the purchase! This is because the transaction could be an emergency and the last thing I need is for the bank to decline it! Also, its kinda embarrasing to stand in a queue of long shoppers and not be able to pay for your items!

It's better to have a transactioned delcined because of insufficent funds because an overdraft cost money. If it's an item you really want bad, you will find another way to buy it.
