It's about the world inhabited by beings called Pokemon, where they co-exists with human. They comes in various sizes, shapes and colors, and usually lived in the wild. They had their own free will, but most probably those that are tamed will comply to the trainer's orders regardless it's evil intent or not. They are captured by a device called Pokeball, tamed, and trained by Pokemon trainers mainly for battling purposes with other Pokemon trainer's pokemon in order to attain the title Pokemon League Champion, while some do it to uphold justice. Some pokemon, however, besides battling can perform different tasks to help human in their daily routine. (healing, extinguishing fire, produce health products, cutting trees, delivering goods, transporting passengers through sea, rescue missions, locating objects etc.). That depends on the elements and skills of the pokemon. The more emerging new versions of this story, puts more on the features of a character type called Pokemon Ranger, besides Pokemon Trainer.
Pokemon spans to a wide range of products and stories in Nintendo Games (GBA/card games/GameCube), animations, and comics. Their main target audiences are kids, and most of the storyline are to promote goodwill with humor. So, you can't expect to see bloody or indecent scenes.

pokemon is a lot of things at the same time-
manga(Jap comic)
anime(Jap cartoon)- a pretty stupid one, but some songs are great!!)
movie-maybe over a 100 of them(seriousl!!!)
video games- pretty popular the world round. They are: pokemon(red, yellow, blue, gold, silver, sapphire, emarald)and maybe more!!
if you're 10+, don't watch it or play it. However, I recommend the songs. You can get them (any of the above)anywhere! its so popular, but childish & silly.

A really stupid kid's show.
For kids with low attention spans who like to see dumb animal repeat their names and fight each other.
It is just a metaphor for animal cruelty. Pussy kids cant fight for themselves and use some ******* aliens to fight for them and hurt each other.
