Hi, I am pleased to pass you my more than five year secret. Try "Cold Power Advanced". If it doesn't do a good job on my clothing I wouldn't use it for that long Plus it is a cold water specialist. I have never had shrinking or fading problem with this product but I'll be cautious on saying that as shrinking and fading can also depend on the clothing material itself. Pls. note that this product is not recommended for front loaders.

Woolite powder in the box, not the liquid. Always try to use the cold water.. Try to use the "Delicate" or "Hand Wash" setting on your washer. Also, Clorox Bleach FOR COLORS (in blue bottle) will help clean and brighten dulled colors. DO NOT use regular chlorine bleach. This way will probably not clean really dirty, stained work clothes, or sports uniforms, but I use both when the circumstances call for it.
Use chlorine bleach for laundry that's sturdy, color-fast (colors that have been washed several times already), and for whites that need the strength for cleaning and whitening. (This is when I use Tide powder, and hot or warm water)
Also, there is a product (I think it's a little sheet) that you put in with your wash cycle with coloreds that prevents colors from fading on each other. My friend says it works very well.
I don't mean to be rude, but I don't Tide is not the answer in this situation. Don't get me wrong, I use Tide all the time, it's the best, when you don't have to worry about colors that might run.

Well detergents don´t shrink clothes, You do that job yourself. Some materials shrink because the temp- you use on your machine is to high. Most clothes have label´s , they say wash with similar color´s on a certain temp , and they say stretch into shape whilst damp. With dark clothes , if you turn them inside out whilst washing them , this will help to keep their color& also when you hang your dark clothes outside the sun won´t bleach them . For white clothes the sun is great as it bleaches your whites whiter than white, So sometimes it´s the colder the wash the longer your clothes will last and stay soft, The more heat you add to your clothes whilst washing them , then putting them in the dryer , will wear your clothes out and shrink them. Hope this help´s you a little

detergent doesn't shrink the clothes. It's the water temperature. I always use cold water with cold water detergent to avoid shrinking.
