I Know it sounds strange but i was wondering what your favourite season is and why?
I was born in Autumn and love the way the air goes crisp and it is so lovely to walk when the leaves are changing colour.
I love snow in winter but don't seem to see that much. So i am definately an Autumn Babe

Hi Playmate et alia,

I love the fall. The days get shorter, and the nights get longer, making for a cozy feeling. The temperatures drop so that I can turn off the air conditioner. I hate the heat of summer. The air in fall is cool and has a crispness that is refreshing. And even in Chicago, the leaves on the trees turn beautiful shades of red and orange.

Fall is my favorite time of the year.

James :-)

I like autumn best too. The trees changing color, the cool air ... pretty much the same reasons as yours.

Actually, I was born and spent most of my life in the tropics, where the seasons are only wet and dry. In that case, I like the wet season: whipping rain and typhoons and thunderstorms. I even like running out in the rain (when no lightning), but it's no longer seemly in a grown woman. :-(

Autumn (sometimes known as fall in North American English) is one of the four temperate seasons. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter. In the northern hemisphere, the onset of autumn is generally considered to be around September and in the southern hemisphere, its beginning is considered to be around March.[1]

Around this time, deciduous trees shed their leaves. The leaves of the trees change their color to a reddish hue prior to falling. Such colored leaves have come to be colloquially called "fall foliage". In the temperate zones, autumn is the season during which most crops are harvested, and deciduous trees lose their leaves. It is also the season during which days get shorter and cooler, the nights get longer, and precipitation gradually increases (in some parts of the world).

The word 'autumn' is derived from the french word 'automne', and became popular in usage for the season since the 16th century. The North American name for the season, 'fall', probably derived as a contraction of the phrase "fall of the leaves", and since became used interchangeably.

If you love the Autumn Babe, So do I. Perhaps we ought to get together sometime before the winter springs into summer.

I love the fall as well. A close second would be spring. Winter is too cold and the summer is too hot.

Spring. I love it when you can smell the rain before it's about to fall, and you feel the moisture on your skin. Maybe it's because I was born in April.
