According to two well know papers it is now back down to them checking on the children every 10 minutes. Wish the media would get the time sorted out once and for all. Let's face it they have had 100 days to get it right.
I often used to check on my child when she was younger, when she was a sleep in her cot but then I was only downstairs not out of the building. Also had a baby monitor so I could hear her at all times. No where is safe when you have inquisitive toddlers.

Exactly, very good question. Because we all know that children under a certain age are NOT SAFE to be left alone, therefore, they need to be checked on every so often. The McCanns have admitted this through their actions.

You must not be a parent. Children can be safe one minute; in danger the next. Meals can be missed; children cannot be replaced. The McCann case smells like dead fish.
As a side note: when I was getting a divorce, the last thing I wanted to do was vacation with my soon-to-be EX-husband.

EXACTLY!!!!!! Very good point!!
edit...Sure one thing can change 5 minutes to the next but...In general most parents stay in the same building as their kids such as their home and I know for myself..my kids can be in the playroom doing certain things and without even looking I know what they are doing. You recognize different sounds at home and well if they suddenly get extremely quiet then I know for myself I go check because boys being extremely quiet means trouble. I am not at the neighbors house for an hour then check on them. Walking down the hall of your home to check every few minutes is a far cry from walking 100 or whatever meters from one building to the next every hour or however the heck long it was to check on your kids.

in the event that they are painless, then they probable are Braxton Hicks. once you have an episode the place you're turning out to be to be them, drink a great glass of water and lie down on your left area, in lots of cases in the event that they are Braxton Hicks they are going to cut back or flow away altogether. those contractions are universal, and no reason to call your physician except they substitute into extra severe and uncomfortable, or are accompanied by way of bleeding, or while you're noticing better than 6 consistent with hour. yet continuously call your physician while you're no longer specific. that's what they are there for. stable success! ETA - in case you went to the wellness center and have been discovered to be in labor, they can't tension you to stay. they are able to extraordinarily lots under no circumstances tension you to stay, you quite often have the right to leave against scientific suggestion. while you're over 37 weeks, there is no reason you could desire to stay and you ought to flow residing house to furnish if that is your plan. while you're below 37 weeks, then i could advise handing over on the wellness center because of the fact the newborn might have matters with temperature regulation, blood sugars, and so on. and could extremely have nearer monitoring.

To check they are still safe? Still breathing? Not woken up and gotten into mischeif I guess. same reason we would check kids in the same house - same reason we'd never leave them and go out in the first place I guess - the element of 'just in case'
I live in a 1 bed flat. When my partners kids come to stay, they sleep in our room, we have the front room, We can hear anything they do, yet while they are sleeping, we still check on them . . .

If they are asleep its none other than the SID syndrome , if they are awake 1/2 is too long a period to leave them alone
children should be monitored and supervised at all times
Not being paranoid, but things can happen and things van also be prevented.Bottomline..we all love our kids for anything bad to happen to them anyway..

this is a good question which I'm sure we know to what it relates!!!
the thing is if you had a million pound necklace would you leave it un -attended in a hotel room?? answer would you hell!!! so if your children are supposed to be the most precious thing you own you would not leave them for a second alone!!!!!!
children are never safe, they are un predictable and a t a young age are un educated into the dangers around them.
in short NEVER NEVER NEVER leave your kid(s) alone or you should be made to face the consequences

Depending on how old they were and where they were at. I would feel the need to check on them, yes. We are living in crazy and dangerous times and we must ensure the safety of our children. So appreciate that someone cares enough about you to check on you.
