It could be teething. my children both got diarrhea and tempretures when teething, doctors say they dont but yes mine do
try panadol to drop the temp if that doesnt work see your doc, as for the nappy rash my daughters was so severe when teething we were prescribed a cortisone cream which worked in two days, over that cream i smothered her bottom in a thick zinc as alot are really thin based and the thicker the cream the better it stays on
goodluck i know how distessing it is to see their little bottoms like that
Goodluck

One of my children had a blistery nappy rash that looked extremely painful. The paediatrician prescribed some type of cortisone cream and then I had to smother curash or zinc cream over that so it wouldn't rub off on the nappy. This worked but of all the nappy rash creams, powders, ointments and home remedies I have found curash cream to be the best as it is super thick and cooling to the skin. As for the fever, if it lasts more than 24 hours I would take her to the doctor. It sounds as though the fever and diahorrea are connected. If in doubt, see a Doctor. Goodluck.

Maybe she is teething. My son and daughter ran a slight temp and got really bad diarhea which led to nappy rash when teething. Try lucas's paw paw ointment for sore bottoms, I've tried heaps and heaps and this one works! Give baby panandol to ease any discomfort.
Give her a sippy cup of water with icecubes in it for sore gums (check and see if they are red, swollen or have white bumps coming through). Also try wetting a face washer and put it in the fridge to cool. Let her suck on it as it helps soothe sore gums too. Keep her hydrated, as you don't want to end up in the hospital with dehydration from diarrhrea.

If its not teething, it could be a gastro intestinal bug that will work its way through in a few days. If she still has the runs in 2 days time, take her back to the docs.

The lucas's paw paw ointment is 100% natural and only costs about $8 for a tub that lasts ages. It can be used on delicate skin, rashes, bites, minor burns etc...Hopefully you can find some where you are. Try a chemist/pharmacy

P.S. My daughter had a reaction to a certain type of nappy at one stage that caused really bad nappy rash so try changing brands or try cloth for a few days till it clears up

this could the beginning of her getting a viral infection usually there is no cause or something that could been prevented these things happen, they just have to run there course usually any where from 5-8 days, and they will get diarrhea, fever, less eating even vomitting fealing cranky the best thing is to make her feal as comfortable as possible and if she's not holding nothing down some pedialite helps with keep her hydrated and depending on her age a little tylenol helps as well, and she may also be teething for that some teething rings orajel and always TLC... hope this helps

Gosh it could be a number of things, but mostly likey your doctor will say its a virus (which is what they always say when they cant find anything more specific - babies and kids have viruses and adults are under stress lol)

I would still take her back though, to rule out things like ear infections, throat infections, chest infections (they dont always have to have a cough) once theyre all ruled out, it could be a bug, tummy bug, or the onset of chicken pox or other common childhood illness... as you can see, it could be any number of things that littlies could catch.

do you know anyone whos come to visit with a sick child? even up to 10 days ago? that is often a good indicator of what your bubba might have.

I doubt it is teething as that is quite obvious with the red cheeks and dribbling, also I have never had a child get dirrohea with teething.

either way, I hope shes not sick for long, poor wee mite.. the only thing I can think of to stop the fever is to give her baby liquid paracetamol, and flannels on her forehead and lots and lots of hugs, keep up the fluids too, if shes on solids dont worry too much about them just make sure she gets enough milk into her to stop her getting dehydrated.

It sounds like a virus or teething.
With teething, the fever wouldn't get up above 100.
If it goes higher than that, it is a virus.
You could also have 2 things going on at once- teething and a virus.

You don't say how old your baby is- but at 6 months, you can start infant motrin- see your pediatrician for dosage information. Infant motrin works for 8 hours. Before 6 months, infant Tylenol.

Good luck!

As far as the rash, it probably hurts to put cream on her bottom. When it is really bad I have noticed that Vaseline works well, it doesn't sting. Now as far as the fever goes it sounds like you should call the doctors office and let them know. She probably has a stomach bug or something.

Honestly, I think she is just teething. My 8 mo. old son is going through the same thing. Just make sure she gets plenty of fluids and give her a little baby tylenol to help with the fever, and it will also help with the teething pain. I wouldn't be too concerned, unless the fever doesn't go away with the tylenol. Then take her to the dr. asap! Good luck!

My son had RotaVirus at that age, you may want to double check that with your Pediatrician.

Of course, diagnosing it requires you to scrape the diapers and bring in samples. I am still wounded from that experience...it wasn't in the Parenting Manuel!

Best of luck...and call your Pediatrician.
