I am having sharp pains in my vagina, like a contraction. No discharge. I haven't had sex for months and I haven't had my periods for about 7 months, though I have had a pregnancy test to be on the safe side, it was negative. So what could it be? I am tired and feeling like I have no energy. The pain is like short and sharp. Any ideas please?
Thanks in advance

Go to the doctor's. No period for 7 months is NOT good. For one, there are cases where women have been pregnant and not known it. Some have even had their periods the entire time, gone through labor and suddenly feel a bit of pressure and.........whoosh.....out comes a baby. These same women also did pregnancy tests that came back negative. Hormone levels weren't present or something, but they didn't have a clue and then that was that.

Second, not having a period for more than 4 months for reasons other than pregnancy is serious. It could be a sign of something going wrong and the sharp pains could be indicative of a build up of dead matter in your womb. GO to the doctor's....now. I don't mean to scare you, but this happened to me once. My period didn't come for 5 months and I thought I was pregnant....tests came back positive. Found out that I wasn't pregnant and my hormones were out of whack, but in the meantime, I'd read up on it and discovered that there are all kinds of problems that can come from not having a period for so long including cancer, cysts, etc. Get it checked out asap and find out what's going on.

Another thing it could be is menopause. Even if you are relatively young, you could still go through early menopause. Some women go through it in their twenties, so it can happen to you. For your health, you need to have a doctor figure this out. You might need to be on hormone replacement therapy to prevent it from happening so early.

Whatever you do, go to the doctors. Sharp pains can't be good and you need to know what can be done.

Take care and good luck.

Could be a lot of things, even though you haven't had sex in months it could still be an STD, because they can sometimes take months to show up. I know this sounds gross, but it could be a tampon that was left in, we used to get girls in the ER all the time with the same problem. I would go to the doctor as soon as you can.

Go and see the doctor, getting adive on here for something as serious as that is bad, coz we can't do any tests or ask more questions.

Could be connected to a hormone imbalance but I would recommend seeing your doctor for further evaluation to see what they think is going on.
