I would have to say that evolution will never really reach a state of true perfection (My Own Beliefs):
I have lots of info that I think you will find quite helpful and enlightening:

http://ecowellness.multiply.com/... (For all the environmental info)
Let us all strive for a greener/brighter future by helping to create a solid foundation for future generations to build upon, so we can hand them a beautiful world, filled with never ending awe and wonders!!
Where peoples differences and uniqueness are accepted, where we all live as one, helping one another so that we can all play our own mysteriously beautiful melodies in the never ending, awe inspiring, song of life :-)
I truly have faith in humanity and believe that someday our lives and the world in which we live will truly be transformed for the better.

Evolution is still in the Theory stage (unless it has moved forward) and looks like staying that way.If it is heading towards a "peak of perfection" it will be a long time before it arrives.

i don't think evolution is heading towards a peak of perfection...evolution brings on power and sadness to some, evolution will also keep going..quicker to some than others.

not necessarily towards perfection, its rather towards adapting. if at any stage during our time there was a need to very aggressive and bloodthirsty, that's what we will become. but as far as i can predict the human evolution is towards creating smarter and more emotionally stable beings rather than anything else. in today's world you will need to be smart, logical and disciplined in order to be successful, this naturally leads to people who are not like that to become the lower class and eventually the gene will perish. so my answer is that it will keep going, it doesn't really care which way it goes as long as its adapting. however human can play a big part in this evolution because of the reasons i have given above. at some stage we may become smart and powerful enough to decide what we will evolve to in the long run.

We may choose to guide ourselves towards some ideal we consider perfection. But that's probably a false-flag, because one person's idea of perfection is another's perfect hell, I expect that if we manage to leave the planet and eventually the solar system, that we will become vastly more diverse in our experiences and the ideals we create. (see the website www.orionsarm.com) which discusses this at length.
As far as NATURE is concerned, natural selection makes certain "dead ends" which could be considered "close" to perfection.
Consider the shark, it's ideally suited to its environment, provided there are plenty of prey-fish around to eat, and more or less there was a fish we would have identified as a shark millions of years ago. The basic plan, eyes, electrical sensor organs, mouth, sharp cutting teeth, fins & tough skin is a definite winning combination.
The same is true of trees, on our planet, given the sunlight ,arable land and water, trees spread everywhere they can.

Evolution of course can be seen as a natural process towards perfection, but it can perhaps never attain perfection since time does not stand still and keeps creating changes necessitating adjustments all the time for ever.

It's interesting to me that people think of evolution as moving us toward perfection. It reveals why we have this love affair with the theory.
Evolution moves us toward survival and usually that is toward absolute ruthlessness. If you go by the fossil record, evolution moves us toward extinction.

Evolution will be interrupted by mans desire for perfection. We will all end up identical and share the planet with creatures that are only nice to look at or good enough to eat.

We can only hope that evolution will allow us to find the solution to all the problems that we (humans) have created:
Pollution, and the global warming being at the top!

There's one thing people often fail to take into account, pollution. The human body will have to adapt to changing climate and pollution. Which could mean a decline in human intelligence and performance. Just as alcoholics intellectual abilities are affected by the alcohol, surely so will people be affected by continually breathing dirty air, with depleting oxygen levels.
