Religion is human's attempt to understand that his science cannot explain. It's like the first step before science takes over and establishes the correctness of what man explained in religion. Religion is also a way for people to spread values and morals in society and so spread peace, harmony and self-discipline. Obviously science and and religion go hand-in-hand 'coz without religion there will be no science and without musing about the world through religion, we would never have invented what is called 'science'.

Religion is man's pursuit of God. Some religions have a negative view of science because they see it as trying to attack religion. There are many scientists who proclaim some kind of religious affiliation. Isaac Newton was very religious. There are some religions that bar the use of doctors and depend on God alone. Other religions do not bar science but do have problems with evolution because it is just a theory and they believe it is an affront to religion. What many religious people do not know is that the first article that Darwin wrote when he returned from the Galapagos Islands and his trip, was the need for foreign missionaries. Darwin died an agnostic, but his wife was very religious. Religion and science can work hand in hand, but if science contradicts a deep held religious belief, many will choose not to accept the science and hold onto their belief.

I think Jeff E is on the right track.

When the theory of evolution was proclaimed, someone made a statement like "now atheism can be respectable". The reason is that if science explains things without resorting to God, then the atheist can insinuate that science has disproved God.

So religion should not be a bar to science but there is always going to be arguments when religion and science make "border crossings". Religion made a border crossing when it proclaimed Galileo to be wrong and science makes border crossings when it proclaims that "evolution is understood to be the result of an unguided, unplanned process of random variation and natural selection." Religion must be the complete way of life means should have the solutions for humanity. It should also not contradict with the facts in science & technology. To know the right religion among the religions exist on the face of earth, we should study & analyse all. As per my study & analysis, i found "ISLAM" only the true religion.

Why did no longer God transcribe a sensible scientific instruction manual into the Bible for those primitive human beings, somewhat than transcribing rituals that accomplish no longer something? Why would not God clarify the thank you to fabricate antiseptic recommendations, sterile dressings, tetanus vaccines and antibiotic creams? Even extra useful, why no longer clarify the thank you to construct a huge call Trek Tricorder to without postpone heal the wound? Even extra useful, why did no longer God layout the human immune device to ward off all infections in the 1st place and do away with the discharges thoroughly? Why would God intentionally inflict those with all of those categories of extraordinary discharges?

The Biblical definition of religion (according to the Apostle Paul) is taking care of widows and orphans and keeping yourself (spiritually) clean.
