Your best bet will always be one from Texas Instruments. A
A TI-84 should be sufficient. IT comes with a manual. If you are planning on going into reallllly high math. go with an even more advanced one from Texas Insruments. Most math teachers know how to use that brand.

The big four names in graphing calculators are Texas Instruments, Casio, Hewlett Packard, and Sharp. For your needs TI-84 or 84 plus are best and if you plan to do more advanced math then the TI-86 or 89 are the next level of graphing calculators and are more expensive. Also the Casio fx 9750G plus is less than $ 30.00 on amazon and the cfx 9850GB are two good choices.
But here is the kicker, find out which calculator the class instructor will be using or is familiar with. I was in a similar class and the instructor only had time to explain the calculator he was familiar with, and students with other type calculators were told to go read the manual because there was no time to workout the problems on other "odd ball calculators" which is a code expression for calculators the instructor didn't know how to operate.

Texas Instruments has nice stuff and good documentation and owners manuals. Radio Shack might be a good place to shop for their customer support but their prices are NOT the best. But really, look for Texas Instruments at bargain stores.
