Essentially, Rae, It's gas forcing some of the digestive fluids in your stomach back up the Espophagus a little way. The stomcah fluids are very acidic and they irritate the lining of the Esophagus, causing discomfort and little pain. a god home remdey for this is to drink a glass of milk or take some Pepto Bismal to neutralize the acids in your espophagus.

A lot of people experience indigestion, most of the time it is because of your diet, a little change into that might help. At times it is because there is an infection in the stomach, in that case you will need to see your Dr about it as it can be treated. Do not rely on antacids for too long as you might keep a problem. Try not eating too late in the night, give time for your stomach to digest and absorbed the food before you go off to sleep. Do not hurry your meals as well. If all fails see your Dr.

Any kind of molecular sugar gets converted to molecular acid in your stomach...(thus, fruit juices...)

Same goes for carbohydrates (otherwise known as "starches," or...

"Beans," if you will...(and we all know that beans are the "magical" fruit...)

The more you eat, the more you poop...(Wah La!)
