my my cd rom drive is TEAC CD-224E version:5.1.2535.0 cd rom and i cant burn audio cd from my computer nor cant read blank cd`s or cd-r & cd-rw please help thanks

sounds like the laser might be dirty. you can clean the laser with rubbing alcohol and a q-tip(be very gentle).
other wise the firmware might be bad google search the firmware version of your drive and you should be able to find an update.

I looked up your drive. It appears to only be a CD-ROM drive, not a burner (laptop, right?). That is why you cannot burn anything or read blank CDs. There is no way to turn your CD-ROM drive into a CD-R(W) drive. Sorry.
A new burner drive should only cost you between 20 and 40 dollars, American, for a desktop one. One for a laptop may cost a lot more.
If your new drive does not come with burning software, try ImgBurn:

A CDROM driver cannot burn a cd-r .. only read...
Buy a cd-rom burner for your laptop (or try on ebay)

replace the writer and save all the trouble and if u meant software .. try a nero oem which will be bundled along the new cd writer
